Following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020, this country’s history of racial oppression became the topic of a national conversation that was long overdue. Early in 2021, child welfare and domestic violence leaders convened to call for a racial reckoning within both the domestic violence field and child welfare systems that cause disproportionate harm to Black, Indigenous and other survivors and families of color.
