When accountability for people who use violence is lacking, survivors are at greater risk and adult survivors are expected to keep children safe without the resources and backing they need. Both systemic and relational accountabillity strategies can and should be used when working people who cause harm, both to establish consequences and to provide the support that people need to change abusive behavior.
