A growing body of evidence shows that everyday racism and inequitable treatment in systems like child welfare activates a prolonged stress response, which has impacts for a child’s lifelong health. These same stressors can also impact caregiving behaviors and adult mental health. All of us have a role to play in fixing this problem.
