Child welfare cases are emotional and difficult under any circumstance, but when domestic violence is involved they become much more complex. This webinar explores both the foundational information of how domestic violence impacts children and how the system treats domestic violence victims while also addressing unique issues that can arise when American Indian and Alaska Native children are involved. Understanding both statutory and cultural considerations will assist everyone to be more helpful to families in these difficult cases while also promoting statutory compliance. Suggestions for solutions are discussed along with identified resiliency factors specific to American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
